The Kiwanis Club of Anacortes WA Foundation
Grant Application Guidelines

The Foundation's calendar gives priority to the timely funding of school year requests & our Student Scholarships.  Other requests may be postponed until the end of our fiscal year in September.

The cut-off is July 31st, for consideration in August & September

Requests received after July 31st will be held over until the next fiscal year, October or later.

Purpose:

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to Improving the World - One Child and One Community at a Time.  The Anacortes Noon Kiwanis Club places an emphasis on projects that support Kids, the Anacortes Community and the surrounding area.

Application Guidelines:

Any organization seeking funding must be a Public Agency or Unit of Government, an IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, a Washington State non-profit organization, or a group seeking/receiving funding under the umbrella of one of the above. Prior funding from the Foundation is no guarantee of subsequent support.

All Anacortes School District requests must be processed through the School District Office.

With the exception of Student Scholarships, the Foundation does not provide funding to individuals.  See the Scholarship tab on the website for that information.

Monthly Deadline:

End of the month (except August), for initial review during the following month.  Grant Applications may be postponed until later in the fiscal year, which ends September 30th.

Annual Deadline:

July 31st, for consideration in August & September.  Grant Applications received after that will be postponed until October or later.  You are encouraged to submit your application earlier in the year, to allow the committees time to review it, and ask for more information.

Selection Process:
Grant applications are accepted throughout the year. Applications meeting the above Guidelines are reviewed by the Committees, which send their recommendations to the Foundation Board, which makes the final decision. Grants are awarded based on the relative merit of the proposal, funds available, and the dictates of the Kiwanis Noon Club. Requests marked “time critical” may be given expedited consideration if the early need for funds is clear in the application.
